MUST SEE Underdogs at Firefly 2017

With Firefly Music Festival only days away, it’s time to start planning out your itinerary. Before we head down there, we’ve been doing our research on the smaller acts and rounded up the MUST SEE underdogs you need to see this year.

*repeat repeat

Thursday 4:00 - 5:00 pm The Northeast Hub

Repeat Repeat is your band’s favorite band. Mixing the sunny swoon of sixties pop with a dark side swirl of Warholian garage rock. Made up of Jared Corder, Andy Herrin, and Kristyn Corder - these 3 musicians make pop songs rooted in the spirit of both coasts, looking beyond borders of their landlocked hometown and instead, mixing California surf culture with New York street smarts into the same track list. They’re the perfect blend of bloom, doom, and boom!

Salt Cathedral

Thursday 5:15 - 6:00 PM Backyard Stage  / 7:15 - 7:45 The Coffeehouse

Heavily influence by Brooklyn’s Jamaican dancehall scene.  On stage, the band combines live instrumentals, electronics, and choreographed lighting to create an immersive environment of crackling energy. Salt Cathedral is one of the most exciting emerging acts of 2017.

Mondo Cozmo

Saturday 12:30 - 1:15 PM Lawn Stage

Boasting a bold, expansive sound that fused Arcade Fire’s epic rock stylings with hip hop elements and folky, Dylan-esque earthliness. His new song shine is topping charts with no sign of slowing down.

Maggie Rogers

Thursday 6:45 - 7:30 PM Lawn Stage

You might know Maggie from the viral video with Pharrell Williams that propelled her into fame. The singer-songwriter & producer from Easton, Maryland just released her EP with Capitol Records. You can expect chill, steady beats at sway-perfect tempos overlaid with syrupy vocals and subtly folksy instrumentals. It’s the stuff sun soaked days and carefree nights are made of. Perfect for Firefly!

FLETCHER

Thursday 2:30 - 3:30 The Southwest Hub

This pop rookie NJ native debuted on Spotify in 2016 with her EP Finding Fletcher. Her lyrics features empowering lyrics and anthemic choruses. Give her formidable first effort a spin and check out her set.
